My housemate uses the rimmel sun shimmer fake tan so I am now a bit of an expert on how to apply it! Invest in a tanning mit, you can get them from any pharmacist and without it you are going to end up with streaks. Put a small amount of the lotion onto the mit and then work it into your skin, I've found the best way to get even coverage is to apply it like you would apply a moisturiser. Make sure you cover all areas that are likely to show even under your arms!!! Handy tip, if you have dry skin anywhere it's going to look flaky so get a dry face cloth and buff the area then re-apply a small amount of tan. Also you're best off getting a mate to do your back. You need to shower immediately before hand and it will work best if you exfoliate so that the lotion can be applied more evenly. Shave your legs before you apply because shaving after will just remove some of the lotion. You simply rub it onto the areas you want the tan and wash your hands right after. Go easy on elbows, knees, ankles, hair line because drier areas will absorb more of the lotion making the skin uneven in that area. Leave your clothes off for at least 15 minutes and you'll need to read the label to find out how long after to avoid swimming, exercise, shower, etc. Good luck!
wow ignore ';karley'; how rude!

yeah the golves will help so your palm dont turn orange..

i would moisturize the night before you do it. so your skin isnt dry or crackly.. make sure to massage it in evenly, otherwise it can become blotchy and look fake.

Apply wearing disposable gloves using a circular motion. Take care around dry bits like your elbows and knees.
